Conductive Education UK is a charity which aims to raise awareness of CE and also to provide CE for school aged children with motor disabilities across the UK. The charity was set up to highlight the lack of Conductive Education opportunities available to school aged children in the UK. Our youngest daughter Molly has been receiving Conductive Education at the Peto Institute in Hungary during school holidays since 2008. Molly was 4 years old when we first made the trip to Hungary, and the benefits to her all round development and independence have been greatly enhanced by Conductive Education. Conductive Education is not widely publicized in the UK and many families are unaware of its existence. Conductive Education is a learning process not a cure, a therapy or treatment. It is an educational philosophy that doesn’t allowing a child to be inactive, negative or uninvolved in a normal life style the solutions to problems in life and living. CE embraces learning & development of movement, speech & mental ability, and is based on the theory that motor disabled children learn in the same way as their peers. No matter how brain damaged a child may be they can learn. Please share your comments with us, perhaps your child has had the opportunity to access CE as part of their Early Years Education, but does not have this opportunity now they have reached school age, or maybe you would like to find out more about CE? We would like to see Conductive Education made available to all school aged children with motor disabilities across the UK who would benefit from it. Please help to give these children a better chance of developing their mobility and independence.
